Volunteers sought for Sunridge sheriff's substation

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is seeking volunteers to work at the North Valley substation in the Sunridge residential area.

Volunteers work a four-hour shift one day a week at the substation, 3587 N. Sunridge Drive.

The position is nonpaid, and volunteers may choose the day they work.

Duties include answering inquiries by telephone or in person, issuing dog licenses, bicycle registrations, tree cutting and special use permits, and generally assisting individuals in need of services provided by the sheriff's office.
