Fly-fishing derby in Alpine set for April 18

The Indian Creek Run-Off Rally Fishing Derby is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 18 at Indian Creek Reservoir between Woodfords and Markleeville.

The entry fee is $35 or $30 if signed up by Saturday. Prizes given include $150 for the heaviest fish and $150 for the longest fish. Winning weight and length will be determined by judges.

Single, barbless, artificial flies or lures are used for the contest. No bait, no electric motors or engines are allowed.

Part of proceeds benefit the Alpine County fish stocking program and the Douglas County School District.
