Stateline gaming revenue continued to freefall in February hitting its lowest point since January 2007, according to figures released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Revenues at casinos in the Lake Tahoe portion of Douglas County dropped to $14.048 million, a 15.35 percent drop compared to February 2009. In February 2006, Tahoe casinos brought in $25.4 million.
Most of Douglas County's gaming tax revenue comes from the Tahoe casinos.
The news was better for East Fork and Carson City casinos, which saw a half percent increase to $7.8 million. Called the Carson Valley area, the category includes the Valley and Topaz Lake.
Statewide the gaming win was a 13.92 percent increase, with the Las Vegas Strip leading the way with a 32.88 percent boost. The Strip with a win of $568,00000 accounted for more than half the money taken in by the state's casinos.
