Heritage Bank of Nevada set the wheels in motion to move its branch on Jacks Valley Road to Gardnerville.
The Reno-based bank said it reached an agreement with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. to purchase a bank branch at 1299 Highway 395 North, which was built in 2007 and occupied for a short time by the now-failed Colonial Bank. The 4,000-square-foot facility includes drive-up banking and an ATM.
Stan Wilmoth, president and chief executive officer of Heritage Bank, said the company expects to move from the Jacks Valley location to Gardnerville in early June. It entered the Douglas County market in February through its acquisition of the failed Carson River Community Bank.
Brent Holderman, who previously worked with Carson River Bank, will manage the Douglas County branch. Longtime regional banker Jerry Gregory will focus on business development for Heritage Bank in Douglas County and neighboring communities.
