SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - The owners of the Great America theme park are suing Santa Clara and the San Francisco 49ers over the planned sports stadium, saying California's environment is at risk.

The Santa Clara County Superior Court suit filed Monday by Cedar Fair Entertainment, owners of Great America, says the environmental review process was inadequate. The suit says state environmental regulations were violated "in a rush to woo the 49ers to Santa Clara."

The new stadium would be built on a parking lot next to the Great America theme park.

Santa Clara residents are scheduled to vote on the $937 million stadium project in June. It would include $114 million in public contributions.
