The annual Mr. DHS pageant is 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Douglas High School commons. Tickets are $10, which goes to benefit the high school's Save and Sober Grad Night.

Douglas School Board trustees may be looking for a do-over of Wednesday's cutting of the field of candidates for superintendent from four to two. Under Nevada's open meeting law, they're not supposed to do polls. They did not once, but thrice.

Soroptimists and Computer Corps are joining forces on Saturday for eCycle Day 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nevada State Bank in Minden. It's a good way to clear out those old computers and peripherals you've got lying around.

This weekend will be unusual in that it's not forecast to rain or snow, or even blow that much. We'll have a breezy night tonight with gusts up to 25 mph, but by Saturday morning the wind will have stopped and we'll get to enjoy two days straight with warm temperatures and sunny skies. Today is supposed to be mostly sunny with a high temperature in the upper 60s.
