The Douglas High softball team won the consolation bracket of the Reed Easter Invitational Saturday in Sparks, going 5-1 overall in the tournament.
After wins over Elko and Alhambra on Friday, Douglas lost in the quarterfinals to James Logan, Calif., 8-7. The Tigers led 71- through five innings.
Katrina Morgan had a home run to go with three RBIs.
Emily Weaver had three hits, including a double and Morgan Blomstrom, Rebecca Trute and Nikki Chavez each had two hits.
In the first consolation game, Douglas beat Elko 13-4 in five innings. Morgan had three hits, including a pair of triples and six RBIs. Blomstrom hit a grand-slam home run, Weaver had four hits, Amanda Caras had three hits and Chavez had two hits. Chelsea Fent picked up the win in the circle.
Douglas beat Fallon 5-3 in the consolation semis as Morgan, Trute and Brenna White each had two hits. Trute drove in a pair of runs as well. Kalee Duryee was credited with the win.
The Lady Tigers raced past Galena, 9-0 in five innings, in the consolation championship.
The first six batters for Douglas scored in the first inning.
Morgan had two hits, including a three-run home run - her third of the tournament.
Trute had three hits including a home run and a triple. Naomi Roberts had three hits and Blomstrom added two hits. Duryee held Galena to just three hits in the game, striking out two and walking none.
