It was a role reversal from the inaugural Carson Capitol Classic on Saturday as the Carson boys track team took first and the girls track team came in second. Last year the girls won the event while the boys came in first.

The Senator boys won the meet with 146.5 points; Douglas was second at 105.5; Rite of Passage was third with 101 points; Whittell (63) and Damonte (62) round out the top five. Sierra Lutheran was seventh with 47 points.

"The thing about the boys is that there isn't one or two hot dogs who are scoring all the points, this team is a solid, well-rounded team that keeps producing," said Carson track coach Robert Maw.

Maw's pole vault trio of Eric Garcia, Cameron Childers and Anthony Winder came in second, third and sixth respectively.

Luke Carter had a solid day for Carson finishing second in both the 110 (16.10) and 300 yard hurdles (41.24), as well as the long jump (20-8). Carter had been sidelined with a hamstring injury.

On the girls side, Douglas won the meet with 195.5 points. Carson was second with 144. Damonte (98.5), Whittell (70), and North Valleys (37) round out the top five. Sierra Lutheran was eighth with 22 points.

The girls meet was highlighted for the Senators by Alex Fallon. Fallon broke the school record in the triple jump with a jump of 37-2. Fallon's personal record before the jump was 35-8.

"I am extremely happy," Maw said. "Anytime a school record is broken under my watch, it makes me really happy."

Hannah Dudley also had a good day winning the discus at 107-5 and the 200-yard dash (26.89).

"It takes a unique athlete (to run and throw) to be able to do both," Maw said. "But to do both and win is (impressive.)"

Douglas swept the top three places in the 100 dash with Alexyss Easlick (12.97), Morgan Karnofel (13.03) and Amanda Brazeau (13.24) finishing in order.
