A woman who embezzled $10,142.21 from the Village Motel while she was the manager is scheduled to be sentenced this morning in Douglas County District Court. Sarah McKinnis, 34, admitted taking the money on March 8. She faces five years in prison and an up to $10,000 fine.
A town hall meeting on the county budget is scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Douglas County Administrative Building in Minden. The meeting is being sponsored by the Douglas County Democratic Central Committee and the Democratic Women.
