Residents of Alpine County are encouraged to participate in the Alpine County Spring 2010 County Cleanup, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 1, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 2, or until the containers are filled each day.
The cleanup event is free of charge and is provided to Alpine County residents at the Public Works Yard, 50 Diamond Valley Road in Woodfords.
Accepted items are residential household garbage, metal, plastic, paper, treated wood waste, washers, dryers, water heaters, stoves, refrigerators, freezers, computers, monitors, intact TVs, florescent bulbs in original packaging, and car batteries.
Accepted recycling materials are aluminum beverage cans, glass, CRV and non-CRV plastic containers, newspaper, cardboard flattened at seams, and uncontaminated motor oil.
Not accepted is dirt, cement, stumps or similar debris, construction debris and construction site clearing debris or slash, commercial business garbage, waste or debris, chemicals, paint, or rummage sale items. Tires will not be accepted.
