The Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley's 12th annual Stars of Tomorrow talent competition is Saturday at the CVIC Hall in Minden. Doors open at 6 p.m., the show and silent auction begin at 7 p.m.
Stars of Tomorrow is a contest for performing arts students in ninth through 12th grades. This year 22 contestants perform vocal solos and duets, dances, and instrumental numbers.
The winner receives the $1,250 Gene Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship, first runner-up receives a $750 scholarship. Scholarships of $500 and $250 for the third- and fourth-place winners are sponsored by Maxton Manufacturing and Carson Valley Medical Center. The $250 People's Choice scholarship, sponsored by Michael Hohl Carson Valley, is decided by the audience.
Master of ceremonies is Skip Brown. Two past winners and several performers entertain the audience while winners are chosen by a panel of judges.
Tickets available at the door on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students and children. A family ticket is available for $30.
