A storm cell is traveling slowly south out of Reno and may bring the 70 percent chance of snow showers after 11 a.m. today. Even if we get pounded, not much of that snow will stick around, with less than half an inch of accumulation possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Another 10 inches of snow fell on Ebbetts Pass, according to the snow telemetry. It was pretty dry stuff, with only .6 inches of moisture in it, but the snowpack went up instead of down. We had .06 inches of rain in Gardnerville on Tuesday, and there were snow flurries along the foothills Tuesday evening.

You're more likely to run into road construction than road controls today. The exception is Highway 88 from Pickett's Junction to Ham's Junction. At Silver Lake the requirement changes from four-wheel drive to snow tires, otherwise you'll need your chains. Mount Rose Highway also has chains or snow tires required. Today's the last day the state will be working on Genoa Lane. Kingsbury Grade will be down to one lane on the Tahoe side through the rest of the week for shoulder work.
