The Douglas County School District is offering a free screening 9 a.m. to noon May 1 at Minden Elementary School, 1170 Baler St., for 3- to 5-year-old children, who may have problems with speech, language, cognitive, social, or emotional skills and fine or gross motor delays.
Mary Jo Hollis, Child Find coordinator for the school district, said even those parents who cannot attend the free screening, may contact the Douglas County School District Special Services office at any time to request the evaluation process.
