Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is scheduled to open the Douglas County Democratic Convention in Minden this morning.
A spokesman for Reid's office said he will be at the convention, which will be held at Minden Elementary School at 8:30 a.m.
Douglas is Reid's first stop today. He is scheduled to attend county conventions in Carson City, Reno and Las Vegas.
Democrats in 11 of Nevada's 17 counties will be holding their conventions today.
Delegates will hear from party leaders, debate and adopt a platform, elect precinct captains to serve as members of county central committees and elect delegates to the state convention, which will be held in June.
