Scarselli Elementary School students check out 16-month-old Madison the dairy heifer during Ag in the Classroom at the Gardnerville Ranchos school on Friday.

Presenters included Dennis Hellwinkel, Plant It Nursery, Sabrina Ferris and her alpacas, Charlie Hone and his beef cow, composting and worms by Carson Valley FFA students, Michele Gibbons' dairy cow, Bridget and John Black's goats,

Todd Gansberg and his horse, mosquito abatement with Krista Jenkins, nutrition with Libby Grant-Davis of the Nevada Dairy Council, Linda Conlin of the River Wranglers, Brian Parks and his tractor, and veterinarian Randy Wallstrum.

The Ag in the Classroom presentation and ice cream were donated by Douglas County Farm Bureau,
