A 64-year-old Gardnerville man faces sentencing on a felony DUI this morning in Douglas County District Court. Karl A. Berns was stopped on May 30 for not having a back license plate. A preliminary alcohol test revealed Berns had a .255 blood alcohol content, or three times the legal limit. Berns was convicted of a third DUI in 1997. In Nevada, once someone is convicted of DUI, all subsequent instances are treated as a felony.

There's a small fire burning along the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne in Yosemite. It's producing a little localized smoke in the wilderness and around the park now, but if it blows up, we could see some smoke up here from it. There's also a fairly small fire burning in Plumas County.

The forecast for this week is pretty much going to remain sunny and clear with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s and lows in the 50s.
