Candidate for state attorney general, Travis Barrick, is the speaker at the Douglas County Republican Central Committee's Aug. 12 meeting at St Gall Catholic Church, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.
Barrick is a native Nevadan who received his early education in the state. He received a juris doctorate degree from the University of San Francisco of Law, and a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor's degree in legal studies.
He has worked in the private sector for a large San Francisco law firm.
He said he is running for attorney general because he "believes that Nevadans are capable of electing a person that has the expertise and experience to enforce the laws of Nevada in a way that is fair for one and fair for all."
Social with refreshments begins at 7 p.m. Membership meeting convenes at 7:30 p.m.
The executive board members will meet at 5 p.m. at headquarters, located at 1516 Highway 395, Suite G, Gardnerville and is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from noon until 4 p.m.
