FALLON - A judge has thrown out a Fallon high school music teacher's lawsuit claiming a school newspaper article damaged her reputation, according to a Reno newspaper.

Churchill County District Court Judge William Rogers on Tuesday dismissed the lawsuit by Churchill County High School teacher Kathy Archey.

The judge said he found nothing in the article was false or was known by any district officials to be false.

Archey sued March 5 over an article published in January about parents' allegations that Archey withheld student audition tapes for a state musical competition.

The suit alleged the newspaper's faculty adviser was the driving force behind the article because his son didn't make the cut for auditions.

Student reporter Lauren MacLean was honored in March by the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno.
