Staff Reports
Lights shown brightly at this month's Carson Valley Photo Club contest. "Night lights" was the theme.
Member and past president Pat Stanley won first place with his picture of the lighted clock tower in front of the State Capitol building in Carson City. He called his entry "8:23 PM" because that's the time shown on the clock's face when he clicked the picture.
Second place went to Mary Muller for her telephoto close-up of a quarter moon. She titled it "Nature's Nite Light."
Pam Brekas's photo of Hot August Night revelers driving a classic car under Reno's "Biggest Little City in the World" sign won third-place honors.
Bonnie Mahl will discuss ranch photography when the club meets Sept. 14. New members, amateurs to professionals, are welcome. Information, club president Doug Dill, 783-4388.
