A 21-year-old Gardnerville man faces up to 10 years in prison this morning for grand larceny, after he admitted stealing from his family to finance his heroin addiction. Tyler Scott Schroeder is scheduled to be sentenced on the grand larceny count and a 2009 possession of stolen property count that was deferred last year.

The Wolf Creek fire continues to burn into the Carson-Iceberg Wilderness. The 892-acre fire is being managed by the U.S. Forest Service to burn out underbrush and dead trees in the woods. Trails in the vicinity of the fire remain closed.

A red flag warning goes into effect 1 p.m. this afternoon for the Sierra's east slope. We're looking at 15-25 mph most of the afternoon with gusts of up to 40 mph tonight and early Wednesday morning. The winds and low humidity will create critical fire danger.
