County Manager T. Michael Brown is scheduled to undergo his second performance evaluation of the year this afternoon.
Brown received an evaluation on Jan. 21 at Lake Tahoe where he received a 4 percent merit pay increase that he donated back to the county to help support local nonprofit groups.
County commissioners were asked to fill out evaluation forms about Brown's performance.
Brown makes $126,859 a year. Commissioners could approve an up to 6 percent pay raise.
In a memo to commissioners regarding his performance, Brown pointed out that the county is facing major challenges.
"The national, state and local economic downturn continues to take a large toll on our citizens, businesses and funding for important county services," he said.
Brown was appointed county manager in September 2008, with a two-year contract and a $125,000 a year salary. His contract was renewed and now will last until Sept. 30, 2012.
The evaluation will be conducted in open session, but no public comment will be taken during the item.
His review will be conducted toward the end of the commissioners regular 1:30 p.m. meeting in Stateline.
Anyone wishing to comment on Brown's evaluation must do so during the general public comment session at the beginning of the meeting.
