Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information on the theft of two loaded firearms from a sports utility vehicle last weekend at a home in the Waterloo area of Gardnerville.
Investigator Jeff Schemenauer said one of the weapons was in a backpack and the second was in the back of the vehicle. He said they were not visible as the SUV had tinted windows.
"Secret Witness is offering a substantial reward because of the importance of getting loaded guns off the street. It's really dangerous," Schemenauer said.
The burglary occurred over the weekend at a single-family residence. The suspect broke into the vehicle and took several items including the weapons.
Total anonymity is assured. Payment will be made in any manner the caller prefers.
