Picnic for volunteers set Sept. 12

Active Volunteers in Douglas is hosting the annual volunteer appreciation picnic 2-6 p.m. Sept. 12 at Bently Science Park.

The picnic features hamburgers, hot-dogs, chips, drinks and cake for the county's many volunteers along with entertainment, lawn games and an awards program.

The event is free but participants are asked to make reservations by Sept. 10 at 782-9900.

Bently Science Park is on Orbit Way, off Buckeye and Orchard roads.

AVID is a nonprofit organization that promotes, maintains, and supports volunteerism in Douglas County.
