Gardnerville resident Brita Hedenstrom came by the office with the award her daughter's company won from the Builders Association of Northern Nevada.
Minden resident Grace Townsend-Caldwell is president of Independent Power Corp. based out of Reno.
The firm won the most effective use of green building products in the single-family home category at the awards banquet on Nov. 12 at the Atlantis Hotel & Casino.
Brita, who is a native of Sweden, said she's often asked where people can obtain more information about installing solar panels.
"So many people ask if I know anyone around here who does solar, and I say we're here," she said.
