The snow level brushed the Valley floor last night leaving snow in Genoa, and chain controls on anything resembling a mountain highway. In Douglas County, snow tires or chains are required over Kingsbury and on Highway 50 from Carson to South Lake Tahoe. Snow tires or chains are also required on Highway 395 south of Walker. Chains or four-wheel drive are being required over the summits on Interstate 80 and highways 50 and 88.

It was memories night at the Douglas County School Board on Tuesday, with tearful board members saying farewell to senior trustee Keith Roman. Board members also delivered a Nevada Association of School Boards award to Record-Courier reporter Scott Neuffer. Neuffer's mom, a teacher at Scarselli Elementary was in the audience along with three of his co-workers. Board President Teri Jamin was named veteran school board member of the year by the state organization.

We're looking at mostly sunny skies today with a high near 46 today. There will be a light breeze out of the northwest shifting to the southeast during the day. Expect the low to drop to 21 degrees tonight. The next storm is due to arrive Thursday night.
