EDITOR:
On Dec. 7, I attended my final meeting of the Gardnerville Town Board as an elected official. It has been my pleasure to be an elected member of this board for the past 16 years. Your town board has brought about many changes over those years that we hope has enhanced your way of life in Gardnerville, and make you happy that you chose to live, work or retire here as a part of your future.
This board consists of five elected members who over this period of time, I truly believe, have accomplished this.
There are many new looks on our main street with new lighting and other amenities, new parks, fishing in the ponds, etc. The maintenance of our town's streets and waste management program has been greatly improved by the never ending hard work of the office staff and the outside maintenance staff.
There will be two new members on the board in January, and I believe this new board will be just as committed to the residents of Gardnerville as all the former boards were. I leave feeling proud of our accomplishments over the past 16 years, and feel confident that the new board will continue to serve in the best interests of the Town of Gardnerville.
In closing I want to thank all the great residents of Gardnerville for providing me the opportunity to represent you for the past 16 years. It truly has been an honor that I will always remember.
