Douglas County commissioners will discuss what to do with nearly $1 million in the larger than expected ending fund balance. Commissioners are also expected to accept Lynn EnEarl's second resignation and direct advertisements to find her replacement. Commissioners meet 1:30 p.m. at the Tahoe Transportation Center in Stateline. The meeting is expected to last slightly longer than two hours.

A winter storm watch has been issued for Lake Tahoe and the central Sierra. The National Weather Service is forecasting snow levels down to 4,500 feet on Friday rising to between 6,000 and 7,500 feet on Saturday and then dropping back down on Sunday. The heaviest snow is expected Friday night through Sunday morning with hourly snow fall rates of 2-3 inches per hour during the strongest portion of the storm.

Today, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 42 degrees. The wind should be out of the northeast at about 5 mph. Any snow that's going to fall will hit after 4 a.m. on Friday.
