The Huns have invaded, and it's up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous sidekick Mushu to save the emperor.
Travel back to ancient China in the Theater of Arts Discipline's production of "Mulan Jr.," an action-packed stage adaptation of Disney's "Mulan," continuing today through Sunday at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
Starring the youth of Carson Valley and Carson City, the cast features Adriana Avitia as Mulan, Braeden Garrett as Mushu, Dalton Miller as Yao, David Legaspi as Ling, Marcus Cotton as Qian-Po and Mitch Miller as Shang.
The musical is directed by Rich Garrett and Sabrina Martin. Musical director is Brynn Garrett. Master Nyls Rothfusz of Northwest Martial Arts choreographed the fight scenes and "Make a Man Out of You."
Dancers and instructors Alisa Merino and Bailey Gumm of All About Dance choreographed "Keep 'em Guessin'."
Scenic artist is Lorna Corlett, grandmother to cast members Luke and Jake Houghton. Costume designer is Utahna Derbyshire.

Families in transition
TOAD has set up a fundraiser to help family through the Families in Transition program at Pau-Wa-Lu. Bring donations of canned foods, presents, and gift cards that will be given along with a decorated Christmas tree to the guest family.
