Douglas County 4-H Teen Leadership members hosted Support Our Troops night at 4-H Community Club for all 4-H members and their families. More than 150 participants showed their support by bringing items to fill care packages. 4-H members also wrote letters and drew pictures to include in the packages. In all, they filled 30 boxes to go to local troops from Douglas County who are serving overseas. 4-H members also raised $360 through their annual pet treat fundraiser to pay for postage.

"We wanted to do something to let the troops from Carson Valley know that we are thinking of them," said Briana Rutherdale,18.

"We are proud of our troops," said Leah McKinney, age 12.

Douglas County 4-H members also wanted to thank the Gardnerville Post Office for all their help. 4-H is a youth development program of the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension.
