The R-C Morning Report

It was pretty slick on the roads Wednesday night and there's no reason to believe it's any less slick this morning. There are road controls for most of the mountain highways in Western Nevada, including Kingsbury and Spooner, and 395 between Washoe Valley and south Reno. Highway 50 between Carson and Leetville is also requiring snow tires or four-wheel drive, and is Highway 208 from Holbrook to Smith. Highway 88 is closed from Ham's Station to Carson Pass.

Bundle up and give the car plenty of time to warm up this morning because it's 14 degrees out in Minden. The light layer of snow on the ground won't help us warm up any. The forecast for today is for a chance of snow showers and a high of 32 degrees, if we're lucky.

The government, banks and The Record-Courier are closed on Friday for New Year's Eve. We'll all be back on Monday morning. Have a great holiday and see you next year.
