Meeting week begins this Groundhog Day with all three towns meeting tonight. Minden's got the action with interviews for the three finalists for town manager Dave Betley, Lisa Granahan and Roger Van Alyne. Minden's meeting kicks off at 6:45 p.m.

The Gardnerville Town Board meets at 4:30 p.m. Gardnerville's longest item is a closed session to confer with their attorney. They'll also be setting a date for their annual planning and budgeting workshop. Genoa Town Board members meet at 7 p.m. They'll be reviewing Town Manager Sheryl Gonzales' performance. There will be no Parks & Rec meeting today, since they met last Tuesday.

The only person to avoid prison in the beating death of Terrence Howell is in court today for a probation violation. Jimmy L. Holman, 15, could face prison today, depending on what District Judge Dave Gamble decides. Also in court today is James Kent, 54, who's being arraigned in an alleged kidnapping attempt, and 46-year-old convicted gym locker thief Timothy Kamchee, who is up for a probation violation.

We had a power outage for about five minutes in downtown Gardnerville. From what I could tell, it went from the Stratton Center down to High School Street. I'll send a note to Walquist at NVEnergy to see if I can find out what happened.

The weather today will be mostly cloudy with isolated showers in the afternoon. Expect the high temperature to hit somewhere between 38 and 48 degrees. Tonight the snow level drops to 5,500 feet in places.
