The Douglas girls' basketball team got within one point midway through the third quarter against Manogue Friday night, but would get no closer.
Manogue outscored Douglas 27-18 over the final 13 minutes to take a 55-45 win in Minden.
The Tigers fell behind by as much as 12 early on, but fought back to cut the score to 28-27 with 5:46 left in the third quarter thanks to an 11-2 run. The run, sparked by a 3-pointer from Ne'Jae Jackson and a pair of baskets from Bri Burnside, marked the Tigers last consecutive field goals of the game.
The Miners answered with an immediate 9-1 run to push the lead back out to 37-28 and the Tigers wouldn't get much closer from there.
Jackson led Douglas with 10 points, Tia Lyons had nine, Katie Dry had eight, Burnside and Alex Laing each had six, Ebony Cleveland had four and Erica Macias had two in the loss.
Douglas hosts South Tahoe at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday and travels to Carson Friday at 5:15 p.m. to close out the regular season.
