Police are looking for a man who robbed the Bank of the West branch at 2161 Lake Tahoe Blvd. at 4:24 p.m. Thursday.

Personnel from the bank told police that the suspect acted alone. He entered the bank and demanded cash from the teller and brandished a gun.

"To the best of our knowledge some sort of a stainless steel revolver," said South Lake Tahoe Police Department Sgt. Cameron Carmichael.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash the suspect fled the scene.

Police believe the man left in a vehicle, but have received varying descriptions of it.

Descriptions of the man were also varied because he was wearing a disguise and a hat. Police do not believe his facial hair was his actual hair.

The incident is still under investigation.

Police do not believe this incident is related to a Feb. 10 robbery of the Wells Fargo bank inside of the Raley's Supermarket at the "Y."

Anyone with information concerning this person or related information is asked to contact the South Lake Tahoe Police Department at (530) 542-6110.
