Lt. Col. Nora R. Taylor has retired from the U.S. Air Force after more than 23 years of faithful and honorable military service in both active and reserve duty status.
During her retirement ceremony, Taylor was decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal. The medal is awarded to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who distinguish themselves by either outstanding achievement or meritorious service to the United States in noncombat situations.
She received the medal for distinguished and exceptionally meritorious service as senior patient movement clinical coordinator at the Global Patient Movement Requirements Center, Joint Transportation Reserve Unit, U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Her personal commitment, multi-service training expertise, and profound commitment to excellence contributed immeasurable to the success of the command and the Department of Defense patient movement mission and responsibilities worldwide. She worked with diplomatic notifications for patients from multiple nations and incidents including El Salvadorans, Canadian Forces and photojournalists. She established and performed integrated all-service training, qualifying newly assigned field officers to duty positions including a first-ever patient movement liaison officer position. Prior to retiring, Taylor served as a senior patient movement clinical coordinator assigned to the U.S. Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base.
She is the daughter of Thomas A. and Nancy R. Reimers of Minden. Taylor graduated in 1982 from Ben Eielson High School, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, and received a bachelor's degree in 1986 from California State University, Hayward.
