Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department offers classes for children to seniors. Registration required for all classes. Information at the office, 1327 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville, or 782-9828.

Adventure camp activities include games, arts and crafts. Snack included. Camp is 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 26 at Gardnerville Elementary or Jacks Valley Elementary School. Cost is $22.

Ballet. Students age 3 and older learn ballet and develop concentration, coordination, self-discipline and confidence. Classes at World Gym. Call recreation department for schedule and cost.

Ballroom dance. Learn fundamentals of fox trot, swing, waltz and Latin dances. Classes for age 10 and older are March 5-26 at Dance Workshop in Minden. Cost, $80 per couple.

Beginning Tai Chi. Learn this soft martial arts form with warm-ups, exercises and repetitions. The ongoing class is held Saturdays in various locations. Cost is $5 per month.

Cross country skiing. Learn the basics with instructor David Beck. Provide your own transportation and equipment. Class is 2-4 p.m. Mondays, March 1-22, at Scott's Trailhead in Hope Valley. Cost is $50.

Concealed weapon certification. Course meets and exceeds Nevada State concealed weapon certification requirements for handguns. Class is 6-9:30 p.m. March 17 and March 19 at the recreation annex and March 20 at the Douglas County Shooting Range. Cost is $90 plus a $10 insurance fee.

Easter basket pottery. Students ages 7-12 create Easter basket pottery, 3:30-5:30 p.m. March 15 and 3:30-4 p.m. March 25 at Felix Pottery. Cost is $32.

Horseback riding lessons. Students age 7 and older learn basic horsemanship, general horse safety and basic riding skills at Sheridan Creek Equestrian Center in Gardnerville. Classes for beginning to advanced students are 5:30-6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Cost is $40 per class.

Natural health approaches. Receive a complete personal health evaluation and learn natural ways to support and heal your body with foods, herbs, supplements and remedies. Class is 1-2 p.m. Tuesdays, March 2-25, at the recreation annex building. Cost is $40.

Scrap booking. All day crop with instructor Jackie Gordon, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 13, at Gardnerville Elementary School. Tools available. Cost of $10 includes a snack and water.

Yoga focuses on the body, mind and spirit with concentration on control, stretching and breathing. Class is 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays, March 1-29, at the recreation annex building. Bring exercise mat. Cost, $40.
