A memorial service is 1 p.m. March 6 at the Sierra Community Church in South Lake Tahoe for Thomas Edward Cragg, 53, who died at his home on Feb. 10, 2010.

Born Nov. 29, 1956, in Glendale, Calif., to William Edward and Betty Dale Cragg, he moved with his family to Rosamond in 1970, where he graduated from Rosamond High School in 1974.

Mr. Cragg studied for and achieved a certificate that qualified him to work as a water treatment operator. He went on to become a supervisor, and worked for Avek Water Agency in Kern County, Calif., for 12 years. He moved to Lake Tahoe in 1988, where he upgraded his certificate and worked as a wastewater treatment operator for Douglas County Sewer Improvement District until his retirement in 2009.

Mr. Cragg was married twice and had two daughters. He loved doing anything outdoors and enjoyed riding dirt bikes and his quads, camping and fishing. He was especially proud of his two Harleys and collection of guitars. He had a great appreciation for music and volunteered his time to help promote concerts for one of his favorite artists, Michelle Shocked, after retirement.

Mr. Cragg was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Cragg.

He is survived by daughters Holly Cragg and her husband Jeremy Wilson, and Heidi Groessl; mother Betty Dale Cragg; brother J.D. Cragg; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
