EDITOR:
Why is it that the healthcare bill has passed in the Senate, yet I cannot watch TV without almost every commercial telling me how wonderful the healthcare bill is? Who is paying for all of this? And why does this need to be crammed down our throats with non-stop commercials to get us to accept it? If the healthcare bill really was the greatest thing for America, people would know it and not have to be told. Instead the Senate has been holding crucial votes late at night when nobody is watching, President Obama has been having secret meetings with various senior and medical organizations to get their support, and backroom deals have been made to buy off senators in order to pass this monstrosity as quickly as possible before the American people (who must pay for it all) realize what has happened.
When Harry Reid returns from Washington and starts gloating over this bill and seeking re-election, remember one thing: there is a massive cost for all this expansion of government, and we are the ones who will pay it. Welcome to the new year, and let the taxes begin.
