A memorial service is 2 p.m. today at High Sierra Fellowship for William 'Barber Bill' Dean Cox, 26, who died at his home in Gardnerville on Dec. 27, 2009.
Graveside services to follow at the Garden Cemetery.
Born Dec. 13, 1983, to Clarence and Carlise Cox in Modesto, Calif., he attended barber school in Stockton and Victorville, Calif.
He was a full-time barber at Main Street Barber in Gardnerville.
He left his career to take care of his mother and father during and after his father's 21-month hospital stay.
He recently received his master barber license, and was in the planning stages of opening his own shop in February 2010.
An active member of the Gardnerville chapter of the Active 20-30 Club, he participated in many fundraising activities and charitable events.
He is survived by his parents; siblings Jesse Cox of Redford, Mich., Barbara Meyer, Marysville, Calif., and Ramona Cox of Las Vegas; nephews Henry and Joshua Cox and niece Abbigail Meyer; grandparents Bill and Barbara Baker of Enid, Okla., and Lillie Vigue, Modesto, Calif.; many uncles, aunts and cousins.
The family requests donations be made to the Memorial Trust Fund, Nevada State Bank, William 'Barber Bill' Cox.
