EDITOR:
Does anyone realize all the problems shelter-obtained animals cause when brought into suburbia? These elementary children are sadly naive; they don't understand that a neighborhood's peace and quiet is often ruined by the introduction of surplus animals. These kids have on rose-colored glasses; all they want to do is pet the puppy, and give it a blanket.
They don't care about the annoyance of barking dogs, or dogs chasing cars, dogs pooping and peeing in the neighbor's yard, dogs chasing wildlife, dogs harassing delivery employees, and dogs making the area look like a Third World country as they skulk around the yard. I would not want to live next door to that pit bull mix pictured on the front page.
