Updates on former Tiger standouts

Nico Barker, fr., Montana State Northern: Went 3-2 at the Jimmie Open in Jamestown, North Dakota last weekend.

Shane Miller, jr., Mesa State: Took sixth at the 22-team Midwest Classic over the weekend. The tournament featured six nationally-ranked teams. Miller won his first two matches to advance to the semifinals, but dropped his next three, including a tough loss in the consolation semis against Northern State's Matt Meuleners, 4-2.

Tony Ferris, soph., Lassen: Stats not available.

Keith Olson, jr., F, Nevada: Played briefly in a 77-67 win over New Mexico State.

Jessica Waggoner, fr., F, West Point Prep: The team has been off during the holiday period. They returned to action Thursday night after The R-C's press deadline.

James McLaughlin, fr., G, Sonoma State: Red-shirting. The Seawolves lost lost to San Francisco State 65-52 and Monterey Bay 80-63 last week.

Nick Lonnegren, sr., G, Chico State: Chico State lost to San Bernardino 85-74 and beat Cal Poly Pomona 72-70 in overtime. Lonnegren had two points in the loss.

Angela Nelson, soph., Elmira College (junior varsity): Next game is Jan. 16 against Penn State.

Nick Cohee, soph., Utah: Season opens Monday with the Utah Invitational.

Shawn Estes, P, free agent: Estes, who went 3-2 with a 3.00 ERA with the Dodgers' Triple-A club last year, is among 30 free agents pitchers on the market heading into 2010. His name has been linked to several teams, including the Brewers and the Mets, mostly in opinion columns and blogs.

Chris Balcom-Miller, P, Casper Ghosts (Rockies Single-A): Pitchers and catchers can report to Spring Training Feb. 18.

Ryan Laing, jr., 1B, New Mexico State: Season opens Feb. 19 against Washington at the Cactus Classic.

Niko Saladis, jr., OF, Southwest Baptist: Season opens Feb. 5 at Southeastern Oklahoma State.

Cory Eilers, jr., OF, William Jewell: Season opens Feb. 12 at Northwood University.
