January food specials at Carson Valley Inn

As the Carson Valley Inn casino area undergoes extensive remodeling in stages over the first few months of 2010, Carson Valley Inn guests will enjoy a full schedule of dinner specials in Katie's Country Kitchen.

According to CVI Food Operations Director Gary Oien, "We know our guests will want to stop in often to watch the progress of the casino remodeling so we are offering a different dinner special each night of the week starting Jan. 4. You'll be able to satisfy your curiosity and your appetite in one visit."

Weeknight dinner specials in Katie's are served from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday is Italian Night with your choice of lasagna or chicken Parmesan.Two-for-One Prime Rib Night is every Tuesday in Katie's - buy one prime rib dinner and the second prime rib dinner of equal or lesser value is free.

A beef stew special is served every Wednesday. On Thursday nights, there's a smoked corned beef and cabbage special with boiled potatoes and horseradish cream sauce. Katie's dinner specials on Monday through Thursday nights include choice of soup or salad.

Katie's dinner values continue on the weekends in January with a Captain's Platter featured from 4 to 9 p.m. every Friday with fried catfish, clams and shrimp are served with hush puppies and cole slaw. Saturday is Barbecue Night in Katie's from 4 to 9 p.m. Choose a large portion of ribs or half a chicken - or a combination of ribs and chicken. Katie's Sunday special starts at 2 p.m. with a southern fried chicken plate with mashed potatoes and cole slaw.

Katie's is also offering ham steak and eggs special available 24 hours, every day in January. Enjoy a giant ham steak, two eggs any style, hash browns and toast.

There's also a new convenience for INN Club members in Katie's starting on Jan. 4 - PointPay. It's no longer necessary to stop at the INN Club booth for a comp slip; you can now redeem earned points towards your check by swiping your card right at the Katie's cashier.

The Carson Valley Inn (www.cvinn.com) is located on US Highway 395 in Minden near the start of State Highway 88, 20 minutes from Lake Tahoe's south shore and 45 minutes south of Reno. The property includes a casino, hotel, motor lodge, RV park and 3 dining facilities.
