EDITOR:
Regarding the article from Sam Foster who believes animals are trivial and calls them ugly pound mutts.
I assume he never owned a dog and received the dedication, love and companionship they give unquestioned. Many have been known to save lives and are trained for drug sniffing at airports. We as humans are responsible for them becoming domesticated, their overpopulation, abandoning in fields and parking lots and the vicious cruelty they endure and starvation. What little it is for us to donate a warm blanket or a bag of food. I hope Sam can understand we not only love each other and the beauty of trees but all of God's creatures.
