Cattlewomen name Laxague best business

Western Nevada Cattlewomen selected Jody and John Laxague and Laxague Feed & Supply as the best beef business of the year for 2009.

They were chosen for their support and promotion of the beef industry through their retail store on Industrial Way in Gardnerville.

Honored and awarded a plaque at an annual fundraiser dinner sponsored by the Western Nevada Cattlewomen, the Laxagues have owned and operated their feed store at the same location for 30 years.

A traditional feed store, many family members and local youth have worked at the location. Both Jody and John graduated from the college of agriculture at the University of Nevada, Reno, with degrees in animal science and have for 30 years supported area 4-H (both past leaders), FFA and Cattlewomen programs.
