Perhaps a hug

EDITOR:

I think you both need a hug. You have taken a nice thing and turned it into something bad. That teacher and her students did a great thing and if you read the whole article you would have seen that they wanted to do something different. What these kids did was a great experience for them. Yes I'm sure there are some kids that do not take care of their pets, but I know that there are adults out there who don't, so when things like that happen that's why there is a safe place for them to be. Dogs and cats are not surplus, they are pets where either the owner had to give them up or just lost.

Those animals and the cute puppy are taken care of by volunteers. Maybe you both should spend some time out there. Those folks walk the dogs and play with the cats and make them better pets for those of us who like "surplus" animals.

The gal who wrote that all the animals do is poop and pee, must not have ever had kids. The man who wrote that holidays are for humans only, is wrong. There are some folks whose only family is their pet. If you read the whole article and thought it was pathetic, if you didn't like the picture why did you keep reading?

I'm glad neither of you live here in our Valley and I'm sure glad you're not my neighbors. And since neither of you live in our area don't worry about what our kids, pets or what we're doing in our town. Hugs to both of you.
