The Nevada Highway Patrol is working a non-injury accident at Jacks Valley Road and the southbound lanes of Highway 395. The highway has been plowed and there isn't that much of a berm this morning. Snow tires or chains are being required from Muller Lane south to Bridgeport, and probably beyond. Speaking of Muller Lane, it's back open today. We'll follow up on Monday's accident today, find out what happened and how long it took to fix the power pole.

Chains or snow tires are being required over Kingsbury Grade and on Highway 50 at the Lake. Highway 88 has controls from the junction with 395 south to the state line and then again from just past Woodfords to the Amador County line. Highway 208 has chain controls from Holbrook Junction to Smith. And the roads around the Lake outside of South Lake Tahoe all have some sort of control on them.

It's a bit slick out there, though surprisingly warm, with the temperature at 40 degrees in town. Monday's storm was a wet one with 5 inches of snow translating into 1.07 inches of moisture, according to Sheridan weather watcher George Uebele. That's on top of the .88 inches Sheridan received in Wednesday's rainstorm.

The forecast today calls for scattered snow showers before 10 a.m., then perhaps rain mixed with snow. The high should climb to 44 degrees. The wind will be southerly at 10-15 mph with 20 mph gusts. We can expect 1-2 inches of snow during the day. The next storm rolls in at about 4 a.m. Wednesday.
