Douglas County deputies and volunteers will be at the Senior Health Fair 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, located at the Carson Valley Inn to help round up unused and outdated medicine.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Partnership of Community Resources are also teaming up to collect unused drugs at several locations on Saturday.

A deputy, two members of the partnership and two sheriff's office volunteers will be at each location to collect the drugs for shipment to Washoe County where they will be destroyed, Sgt. Jim Halsey said. Saturday's drop-off will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Smith's in Gardnerville, Walmart in Indian Hills, Safeway at Round Hill, the Topaz Ranch Estates Fire Station and the Gardnerville Ranchos Sheriff's substation.
