PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - New York Mets ace Johan Santana has thrown off a mound for the first time since elbow surgery last Sept. 1 and said he felt good.

The two-time Cy Young Award winner threw 24 pitches over six minutes Tuesday morning on the second day of the team's voluntary mini-camp. It was his first time off a mound since Aug. 20.

Santana was 13-9 with a 3.13 ERA in 25 starts last year, including 6-7 with a 4.02 from June 1 on.
