Bills which are deemed extremely important have been introduced in the Nevada legislature this week. The Washoe delegation has introduced a measure, which, if it becomes a law, will again make Nevada a mecca for aching hearts. The bill calls for a six months residence and is practically a duplicate of the divorce law, prior to the change in 1913.

"No way, Jose!" Those words were written on a comment card Monday summarized the feelings of the 70-80 people who attended a meeting in Minden to discuss a utility company plan to connect Nevada and California with a power line crossing the Sierra from Minden. The Sierra Pacific Power Co. and the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District hope to build a 345,000-volt power line tying the two companies together. One suggested route would include high metal H-shaped towers and would run from SPPCo.'s Buckeye substation east of Minden to a planned SMUD substation between Placerville and Sacramento.

A 9-foot Alaskan brown bear is not something usually found in the evidence locker of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. The DCSO confiscated the bear Jan. 5 from a Harrah's warehouse employee who was not authorized to sell it. The bear, shot by Harrah's Vice President Russ McLennan in Port Heiden, Alaska, in May 1980, was displayed in the casino's Outdoorsman sporting goods store for a few years, but recently had been gathering dust in a storage warehouse.
