I jumped out of the shower and noticed I had cobwebs on my ceiling vent in the master bathroom. Wait a minute; I am supposed to be an excellent housekeeper. A quick trip to the local hardware store and $90 later, I had myself a beautiful new ceiling fixture. It came complete with a fan, a heater and a light. Actually it looked just like the old one, but new and white instead of yellow. The thing that irritated me the most was how yellow the old plastic had become.
So it only took about 15 minutes to take apart the old fixture and ponder the wiring. I made sure to write down exact notes as to how to re-do it, plus it was in the instructions with the new lighting combo.
I wish I could say this was a piece of cake for me. It wasn't. After careful consideration I called my neighbor who is an electrician and in less than a half hour he had my light up and running without burning down my house. There are some things for sure we need to pay someone to take care of.
Pinon Hills Elementary School
Last Monday the school was to come up with six different ice cream flavors for Tahoe Creamery. One of which would become a signature flavor for the school. I haven't heard which one won out.
Ice cream social plans are happening. We need lots of volunteers. Please call Janna Collins at 267-0586 or Erin Coffey at (619) 889-4516. The school could really use the help. This is one of the biggest fundraiser. Thanks.
From Japan
On my desk as I sat down to type was a note left from my oldest son who just returned from Japan on his way to New York.
It reads, "Letter for Taxi" and it goes on to say please show this letter to the taxi driver from the station to Sakura residence and lots of letters I can't understand, and then from wherever back to the Sakura residence to the station. Keikyu-line, Keikyu-Kurihama station. Yokosuka-Chuo station and JR Kurihama station.
Garrett and Rachael, we miss you all the way in New York, but, it's better than Japan.
Speaking of that child of mine, he and his girlfriend Rachael Thompson are officially engaged to be married sometime this fall.
Darn, I'll have to go to New York. Congratulations kids. We can't wait.
