The Douglas High junior varisty boys' basketball team stayed perfect on the year with big wins over Carson and Fallon last week.
The Tigers took down Carson 59-37 on Friday after trailing 9-0 to start the game.
"This is the first time we have been down by such a large margin," coach Brian Mello said. "The boys responded by going on a 14-1 run and ended the first quarter up 14-10
"I think the team was a little excited in the beginning of the game and lost focus. They settled down and played extremely well the rest of the game."
Defensively, the Tigers gave up only 14 points in the second half.
Trevor Shaffer had 15 points, James TenBroeck added 12, Jake Tessmann had eight, Matt Wylie had six, Steve Werth had five, Nate Vonahsen and Adrian Duenas each had four, Noah Thew had three and Connor Hughes had two.
The following night, Douglas pummeled Fallon 78-29 in Churchill County.
"Our defensive pressure was good," Mello said. "We had guys flying all over the place, getting hands on the ball and steals. We gave up only eight points in the first half and had five players in double figures."
Tessmann led the team with 15 points, TenBroeck and Werth each had four steals, Shaffer had seven rebounds and Vonahsen had three rebounds.
